I am working on co-designing costumes for a movie still in pre-pre-production. I was doing research online and came across these two videos that I thought were worthy of sharing. They’re music videos of the same song, one performed by Willie Nelson and one performed by Dave Matthews. I’ve never been hip (or hippie) enough for either Willie Nelson or Dave Matthews, but I like this song and these videos. Now I am thinking I should look for more Willie Nelson.

My free headshots, miscellaneous updates
Today I got free head shots made at Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts in Burbank. A sweet girl named Alexa did my make-up for two looks: one natural, one sexy. This was her final exam at beauty school. In return for volunteering as a model I got a CD of all the photos they took of me. (Insert shout-out to photographer here: Holly Eschrich Photography!)

A truly dark Black Friday.
It’s not that I’m opposed to giving gifts … I just don’t like the excess. Every Christmas it makes me feel a little sick.
I didn’t go shopping yesterday. We just moved across the country and have no money to spare, regardless of how great the sales are. But in a way, I’m glad. Yesterday a Long Island man died at the hands of a Wal-Mart Black Friday mob. Two people died in a shooting at a Palm Desert Toys R Us.

Welcome!
Today is Black Friday, and I am spending the day creating my new blog, Beautiful Sorta. The impetus of this blog was Facebook’s arbitrary censorship of my posts a month or so ago. I’ve since regained my Facebook privileges, but haven’t forgotten that incident. Facebook is Big Brother. So I am creating my own blog.
This blog has no theme. I am not a theme-person. Life doesn’t have a theme and neither does my blog. But wait— maybe not having a theme is a theme! Oh no!
